Alison is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and an academic in Nutrition and Dietetics with experience in a range of practice areas. Her teaching interests are broad covering a range of topics from general nutrition to food service, with particular interest in all things food. She is the Honours coordinator for Nutrition and Dietetics. Alison's PhD was awarded for research conducted in the area of unintentional weight loss in older adults, which remains one of her research areas of focus. Her other research interests include healthy ageing, body composition, inflammation, pain and food service. She is an active member of the Aged Care Food and Nutrition Research Team that developed the evidence-based Flinders University Food Service Satisfaction Questionnaire toolkit. Currently Alison is developing a research project to investigate nutrition in the home-based aged care setting.
