Dr Emma de Courcy-Ireland

Emma joined the Flinders International Centre for Point of Care Testing in August 2020 after a previous career as a biotechnology researcher. She currently work as a Research Officer and Project Coordinator for the MRFF-funded Sepsis Point-of-Care Testing Trial (SPOCTrial). This study will implement point-of-care full blood examination testing devices in remote primary care centres across the Northern Territory with an aim to improve outcomes for patients who present to these remote health centres with suspected sepsis.

Emma previously worked on the WBC DIFF Program, a part of the Northern Territory Point-of-Care Testing Program, and the national Enhanced Syphilis Response Point-of-Care Testing Program, provding training, quality management and support for the implementation and use of point-of-care tests at enrolled health services.
