Associate Professor Stacie Attrill
Associate Professor

Stacie is the Director of Teaching Programs (Registered Health Professions) in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and an Associate Professor in Speech Pathology. Her primary research interests are in health professional placement education; and learning outcomes for international students in health professional education, which were topics explored in her PhD (University of Sydney). Stacie is also involved in research projects investigating health professional service outcomes for people who are culturally and linguistically diverse, and her clinical research explores mealtime experiences for people with swallowing difficulties. Stacie is a member of the Prideaux Centre for Health Professions Education, and was previously a Course Coordinator in the Bachelor of Speech Pathology.

In her role as Teaching Program Director (Health Professions), Stacie works across the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and with each of the Teaching Sections to promote quality in curriculum and teaching delivery, and innovative approaches that enhance student learning. She has a specific interest in professional placement education and internationalisation. Stacie's PhD (University of Sydney) investigated placement experiences and competency development of international students in Speech Pathology.
Stacie's teaching interests span topics including clinical education; professional practice issues; adults with complex communication and swallowing needs, ICF, ethical practice and rehabilitation. She is passionate about clinical education, speech pathology competency development and health professional workforce development. Stacie's teaching also includes clinical education theory and practice, and the development of professional identity, and transition to practice.
